Multi-Currency Pricing

Ingram's catalog prices are denominated in USD. If your Shopify store operates in another currency, Emersoft Books automatically converts prices at the point of import.

How price conversion works

When you import a title, the app:

  1. Retrieves the USD price from Ingram
  2. Converts it to your store's base currency using the current exchange rate
  3. Creates the Shopify product with the converted price

The cost price (wholesale) is converted in the same way.

When conversion happens

Currency conversion is applied at the time of import. The converted price is stored as a fixed value on the Shopify product — it does not fluctuate daily with exchange rate movements.

If exchange rates shift significantly after import, you can refresh prices by running a Bulk Import job in Create and update mode with only the price field selected.

Manual price overrides

You can edit prices on individual products in Shopify Admin at any time. Manually edited prices are not overwritten by subsequent syncs.

Note

Multi-currency display (showing prices in multiple currencies to different customers based on their location) is a Shopify feature configured in your Shopify Markets settings. Emersoft Books does not manage Shopify Markets — it only sets the base product price in your store's default currency.
