Installation¶
Emersoft Books is available on the Shopify App Store. You can install it yourself in a few steps — after installation, the Emersoft team will contact you to schedule your assisted onboarding session.
How installation works¶
- Find Emersoft Books on the Shopify App Store and click Add app.
- You are redirected to the Shopify permissions screen. Review the access the app is requesting.
- Approve the permissions. Emersoft Books requires access to your products, orders, inventory locations, and fulfillment services. These permissions are necessary for the app to function.
- You are redirected into the app inside your Shopify Admin. Installation is complete.
The app appears in your Shopify Admin under Apps > Emersoft Books.
After installation, the Emersoft team will reach out to schedule your onboarding session. All plans include assisted onboarding — you do not need to configure anything yourself before that session.
Permissions requested¶
During installation, Shopify will ask you to approve the following access:

| Read and write products | To create and update product listings when you import a book |
| Read and write inventory | To apply stock quantities to your locations |
| Read and write orders | To dispatch fulfillment requests and write tracking back to orders |
| Read and write fulfillment services | To register Ingram CDF Lite as a fulfillment provider |
| Read locations | To sync inventory to the correct Shopify locations |
After installation¶
Once the app is installed, the next step is connecting your Ingram account and completing first setup.

Assisted onboarding is included with every plan. If you have not heard from the Emersoft team within one business day of installing, reach out to support to schedule your session.
